Markus Markus Laitinen has been involved in international education close to 20 years, currently serving as the Head of International Affairs for the University of Helsinki. In this role, he is responsible for the strategic planning and coordination of international affairs, and he participates in the development of the university's main strategic documents. Markus is also the University's liaison towards European networks (LERU, UNICA). He is very active in international education, including board memberships for several international education groups. Markus speaks five languages and has a Masters in Social Sciences from the University of Helsinki.

Matt Matt Brattin discovered InternationalStudent.com in 2006 while searching for scholarship money to help fund his international MBA. He had recently been accepted to attend ESADE Business School in Barcelona, Spain when he stumbled across the first annual video travel contest and decided to give it a shot. He’s glad he did, because his entry earned him the grand prize which he gleefully accepted to help fund his trip abroad. Since graduating from ESADE in mid-2007 Matt has been working as a corporate Financial Analyst in the travel industry and credits his international experience for helping him land such a great gig.

Jim Jim Crawley has 18 years of experience in university admissions, 14 of which have been spent in international recruitment. For many of those years, he worked closely with international students at Grand Valley State University as Director of International Student Services. Currently, Jim is putting his international education experience to work for ELS Language Centers. He has traveled to more than 25 countries and is an avid amateur photographer. He has also reviewed films at a high school film festival.  Jim is the moderator of the "Ask a U.S. Advisor" forum on InternationalStudent.com, and he is pleased to again be one of the judges of the travel video contest.

Sandy Florez Sandy Florez is the winner of International Student's 2009 travel video contest. In the summer of 2010, she traveled to Italy, Greece, Spain, Morocco and France (catch up on her adventures here). When she isn't participating in video contests or talking in third person, Sandy is busy finishing her last semester as a journalism and English literature undergrad at the University of Miami. She is a contributing editor at Keep Calm and Write On.
